A MANCHESTER United legend took to Twitter to tell his thousands of online followers that he enjoyed his stay at a Dalton hotel.
Norman Whiteside, who has more than 31,000 Twitter followers, re-tweeted two of his wife’s tweets heaping praise on the Clarence House Hotel in Dalton.
The former Northern Ireland international, who made 286 appearances for United in the 1980s, and his partner stayed at the hotel in Mount Pleasant on Friday night.
The 47-year-old re-tweeted his wife’s tweet on Friday: “Just arrived at a lovely hotel in Dalton-in-Furness, the waiter did a Meg Ryan (Harry Met Sally) impression on seeing @NormanWhiteside!”
Then on Saturday, he re-tweeted another of his wife’s tweets which plugged the hotel’s upcoming Masquerade Ball: “Lovely stay at Clarence House Hotel in Dalton In Furness last night. Masquerade Ball in Oct – might take the Phantom.”

Have your say
As Mark C has said Norman, and his wife Denise, were the guest of Duddon Sports JFC on Friday night. One of the true greats of our game and a most pleasant and personable individual. Can highly recommend to meet him and listen to his after dinner speach.
