CHILDREN from a school enjoyed a special visit from a professional rugby league player.
Pupils at Chapel Street Infant School in Dalton were treated to an extra-special visit from Barrow Raiders ace Liam Campbell.
The class of Year Two children were taught passing and throwing skills and how to kick a rugby ball.
And pupils were rewarded for their hard work with a game of tig, using rugby balls.
The aim of the visit was to not only explain the benefits of sport and getting fit and healthy, but also to promote the game of rugby.
The event was organised by PE teacher Claudia Long, who organised the three sessions through Cumbria Sports Partnership.
She said the pupils were thrilled to have Mr Campbell teaching them about rugby and enjoyed the event. Mr Campbell has also been visiting other schools to promote sport.
